Welcome to the Nations Team!

Leaders: Darrell and Chris Moore

Purpose:  To educate to body of Memorial about global mission needs.  To equip mission coordinators and trip leaders with guidelines, project funds and communications needed to serve in another country on mission. To empower the people of Memorial to "go ye into all the world" to meet physical and spiritual needs.

 The nations team partners with the neighbor team and both are funded by the annual missions offering in November.  They meet together usually monthly and work to support coordinators of each of the local and global mission partnerships.  

We currently have partnerships with ministries and missionaries in Haiti, Sierra Leone West Africa and Joplin Missouri.  We'd love for you to join us this year!  If you'd like to join the Nations team , contact the Moores at 761-1621
 

Upcoming Mission Opportunities:
Pray about where God is calling you! 

Freetown, Sierra Leone in West Africa 
Purpose: Build relationships to empower and equip local citizens of Sierra Leone and to identify where God is at work. We will be working with widows, orphans, street children, and disabled children. 
Dates: June 2013 and November 2013 
Cost: $3000 plus cost of immunizations ($300-$500) and passport 
Requirements: Current passport and VISA to travel to Sierra Leone. Yellow Fever vaccination is also required. Additional vaccinations are highly recommended: Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B (series), Polio booster, and Typhoid

Global Orphan, Haiti 
Purpose: Vision Trip to Haiti 
Dates: March 2013 
Cost: $1300 total 
Requirements: age 16 or older (if without parents), current passport, Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B (series), and Typhoid. Anti-malarial prescription is recommended.

3MT (Mid-Missouri Missions Team) 
Purpose: Gather with other missionaries around the mid-Missouri area to serve in local service projects 
Dates: July 2013 
Cost: $45 
Requirements: Tetanus shot; Completed 6th grade - college age

Kids Against Hunger Family Mission Project 
Purpose: Packaging food for families in need in Haiti (takes place at Memorial Baptist Church) 
Dates: February 16, 2013 
Cost: Free 
Requirements: 5 years old to 90 years old

Joplin, MO Construction
Purpose: Home siding, clean-up projects, and firewood cutting/ stacking to help with on-going disaster relief from the Joplin tornado 
Dates: winter 2012 and periodically throughout 2013 
Cost: $25 - $35 
Requirements: Tetanus shot recommended; boots, jeans, work gloves, warm clothes, toiletries, and sleeping gear

Joplin, MO Vision Trip
Purpose: To find out what spiritual needs the people of Joplin have and how we can get involved
Dates: February 2013
