Volunteer Position Descriptions

 

Children’s Ministry Volunteer Opportunities

 

All Volunteers

  • Serve others out the overflow of Christ in your life.
  • Serve with joy and purpose.
  • Disciple children toward Real. Life. Change.
  • Model getting along, sharing, showing love, and forgiveness to children while you play with them and they play with each other. 
  • Respect parents as the first and main teacher for a child and keep them informed of injury, behavior, questions, etc.
  • Be at the location of ministry 15 minutes before the service begins.
  • Agree to a background check or parental recommendation before serving for the safety of our children.
  • Be responsible in finding suitable substitutes and equipping them for that service. 

 9:00-9:30  or   10:00-10:30  or  10:30-11:00

Check in- Adult with Student

  • Greet families as they come into the children’s area.
  • Have visitors fill out a form and make them a sticker/nametag.
  • Tell people which classroom or give them directions.

 9:00-10:30 or 10:30-12:00

Nursery 1     2-3 Adults
Must be 16 years old or older.

  • Must have experience with infants.
  • Take care of infants on their individual sleep, eat, play, and diaper schedules.
  • Share songs or stories that introduce them to Christ.
  • Play in groups of 2-3 or have some table activities.

Nursery 2 Main Teacher Adult

  • Preview and Plan lesson (provided).
  • Teach a Bible lesson with 2-3 activities.
  • Check/change diapers or potty train as needed.  

 Nursery 2 Helper Adult or Student

  • Assist main teacher as needed.
  • Check/change diapers or potty train as needed.  

9:00-10:30  or   10:30-12:00

3 year olds Main teacher       Adult

  • Preview and plan lesson (provided).
  • Gather materials or make copies.
  • Choose center activities.
  • Potty train as needed.
  • Keep children until they are picked up or it is time to move them to their next area.
  • Manage parent pick up.

 3 year olds Helper  Adult or Student

  • Assist main teacher as needed.
  • Be a small group leader.
  • Help maintain a learning environment.
  • Potty train as needed.

Club Grove Live  (K-5)   9:00-10:30  or 10:30-12:00
 Lead Teachers  Adult (one male and one female)     Plan and lead lesson, maintain discipline of the room, check kids in and out of room
Worship Leader Adult    Learn and teach songs and actions, explain meanings of songs, model worshipping, keep energy level high, be a small group leader.  

Tech Adult                      Run the sound, DVD, Computer, make sure everything is turned on and off, be a small group leader.  

Small Group Leader (K-5) Adult  Meet with small group of kids, encourage and pray with them.  

  

Refuel Wednesday nights 6:00-7:15 during school year 

Refuel Nursery
Must be 16 years old or older.

Refuel Bible Teacher (K-5) Adult

  • Plan and prepare a group lesson (topic provided)
  • Relay the Bible story and Scripture in a fun and unique way
  • Lead discussion of how to apply the lessons to kid’s lives. 

 

Refuel Worship Leader (K-5) Adult

  • Learn and teach songs and actions.
  • Explain meanings of songs.
  • Model worshipping.
  • Keep energy level high.

Refuel Tech (K-5) Adult

  • Run the sound, DVD, Computer, lights.
  • Make sure everything is turned on and off.

Refuel Crowd Control (K-5) Adult

  • Fill in for volunteers who cannot be here.
